Easy Artisan Bread Recipe

Dec 13, 2023

Artisan Bread is the perfect holiday appetizer, snack, or finger food for gatherings. We love making this yummy bread for Christmas Dinner and parties; we often make a couple of loaves to satisfy everyone’s cravings. This recipe is simple and easy, just be sure to plan ahead, as it requires much rising time. We recommend starting it around 8 or 9 a.m., so you don’t have to mix it in the middle of the night, and it will be ready for lunch the next day.

This recipe makes one serving; however, you can easily make two loaves with only one dutch oven pan. Simply make the second loaf in a separate glass bowl, and add the mixture to the pan after the first loaf is done.

Servings:

1 loaf of bread

Ingredients:

3 c bread flour

2 tsp himalayan salt

¼ tsp instant yeast

1 ½ c filtered water

Materials:

Dutch Oven Pan

Directions:

  1. In a glass bowl, mix together ingredients until well combined. Cover the bowl with a plastic wrap and let it sit for 12 hours.
  2. Uncover the mixture and stir dough until the bubbles are gone. Re-cover it again with plastic wrap and let it sit for another 12 hours.
  3. Carefully transfer the dough onto a floured surface, lightly dust in flour, and return to the glass bowl. Cover it with a towel and let rise for 2 hours. After the first hour, preheat the oven and prepare the pan.
  4. Preheat your oven to 475 degrees and place an empty dutch pan in the oven for 30 minutes.
  5. Pull out the warm pan and gently place the bread mixture in the pan, cover it with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes. If wanted, remove the lid and let the top brown for the last few minutes.
  6. Remove the bread from pan immediately and cool.
  7. Slice and enjoy! You can pair with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, jam, or any other spreads.
